All families are encouraged to join us on Thursday, June 14th, for our marching band exhibition! We will begin the evening at 6:00 pm with the marching band performing their routine, in its entirety, in the front parking lot of Highland Park. After that, we will hear from the award-winning HP Jazz Ensemble! Finally, we will recognize student achievement for the 2017-18 school year with awards!
Since our concert will take place outside, families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner! We will also have a dessert potluck! Bring your favorite dish, either store-bought or homemade, and there will be tables underneath the cover in front of the building. We will also have masking tape handy for you to label any serving pieces you need to keep. Students will be able to eat after they play. 7th & 8th grade students are asked to sit together, up front, for ease of distributing awards.
Students are asked to arrive, in full marching band uniform, no later than 5:30pm to warm up. At this time, parents can grab their seats and whatever they would like from the potluck! Students will put their food together, up front, and then go through the potluck tables after they perform.
Please do not park in the front lot, as we will be marching there! It not only narrows the space for the band to pass through, but prevents everyone from being able to see their kids. You may park either on the side lot or on the street.
